Conflict doesn’t come to us, it comes from us. If there is a storm in your life step back and take a look at the larger picture. We see things not asthey are but as we are.
Do you recognize these four winds in your storm?
- defensiveness
- misunderstanding
- competition
- fear
Ask, “Why am I outside my comfort zone?” Examine negative knee-jerk reactions and attitudes and identify the source of the threat. See how the scenario would play out differently when you seek to understand and find common ground. Place more importance on peace than on ego and the need to be right.
Real transformation comes from facing our dysfunctions
and seeing our role as the “I” of the storm.
Exercise: Place both hands beside your head, bring your issues to mind and listen to the dialogue your brain is telling you. Then, place both hands on your heart and hear the dialogue your heart intelligence tells you. You’ll notice a vast difference and a kinder, gentler voice.
